I don't know who loves the iPhone more, Scott or Emery. Although I am pretty sure Scott wouldn't throw a huge tantrum if the phone was taken out of his hands like Emery does (or would he).

Jeanie sure does love to snuggle with the grandchildren.

I just wanted to take a minute and let Scott and Jeanie know how much not only I, but Dave and the kids as well, love and appreciate you both so much. You have excelled in the grandparent department. Emery and Rivers just adore you. You can see it in their faces. Even my 6 month old baby knows and recognizes who is near and he enjoys being snuggled by you two. Thank you for being outstanding in laws. I am very lucky to have such strong, talented, sweet, tender and beautiful in laws to look up to as well as turn to. Thank you for always supporting Dave and I in what we choose to do with our lives. We appreciate the good feelings and prayers we always feel being sent our way. Thank you for being such an outstanding example to my wonderful husband. He was raised in an incredible home around the most wonderful people and I am truly thankful for the man he turned out to be, and I know you two had quite a bit to do with that. Thank you Scott for being a worthy Patriarch and Jeanie for being the foundation of your home. So much of what Dave believes in and lives by is from your example and teachings. I love you.

Happy second BIRTHDAY sweet girl (on November 21)!!

She loves her new Dora bed. We said we would never buy such commercial things such as this but after having to borrow an identical bed when family was in town, E fell in love with it. So behold, the bed.

This is the Rollie Pollie Ollie cake I made for E. It took a total of 5 hours to make, with the baking, cooling, assembling, frosting etc. She wanted nothing to do with it. I don't know if it was the candle flame, the out of tune Happy Birthday song, having the lights off, or just a combination of it all, but she bawled her face off. So then I went up stairs and cried as well. A lot of work for nothing.
Next year she is getting a donut. No candle.

We love Emery so much. She is an incredible addition to our small family. She has also become a very great helper to our newest addition. Rivers has been her little doll, chair, distraction for her to get into trouble, and best friend. They love each other so much and I have really enjoyed watching them truly bond. Happy Birthday Emery (all the details of what she has been up to and her stats etc have been written down BY HAND in a journal. You know, the kind with paper in it).

Halloween isn't for the faint of heart

Emery loved helping gut the pumpkin. After that she decided eating all around the pumpkin would be the activity of choice, that and throwing seeds. Needless to say, she went to bed shortly after this picture was taken.

My thought for this year was that it was going to be the last year I could make her whatever I wanted for Halloween without a protest. Well, I was kinda wrong. She liked it when I practiced the face paint earlier in the day but when it came time to really dress up-she hated it. And me.

Emery went as Tobias Funke from Arrested Development (I know, I know)

Tobias was a member of the Blue Man Group. Sort of. He was an understudy.

This was as good as the costume was going to get. She was not too pleased.

At the 3rd door she knocked on, a man came at her with a 'Scream' mask on at her level and yelled in her face. Her night was ruined, and probably Halloween for that matter. Because of that dreadful and scarring event, this was all the candy she was able to collect. I didn't even try to eat any. I just felt too bad.

Hopefully next year we have a completely different and better experience. Maybe I will let her dress as a girl or something. Weird.

A birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas all to come. That should make up for this night.

Bethany (David's sister) said that she and Cameron didn't feel like they were really married until this last weekend. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, Utah Temple.

So many members of their extended family were able to attend and that made the evening all that more special.

Congratulations you young, hot couple. I am super proud of you both for making it to where you have. Love you lots and I'm stoked to call you family!

Dave and I were so happy we could be there to share that experience with you.

Our Best Bites

Tonight I was inspired by my favorite cook book Our Best Bites to take a little extra time with my meal making and come up with something simple and delicious. My mom got me this cook book as a Mother's Day gift and I have made so many of the recipes already. All of them proving to be absolutely divine! All of these photos were taken by my iPhone, on purpose of course, and I think the pictures really speak for themselves. This was some yummy dinner!

If you would like to try this, well just make it then. The homemade meatballs have just the perfect combination of spices and herbs, making every bite as enjoyable as the last! Here is the recipe so you can make this at home for you and your family. I highly recommend it.

Italian Meatballs:
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. Sweet Italian sausage
1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 Tbsp. dehydrated onion
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. parsley
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt

Set oven to broil. Gently combine meatball ingredients in a medium bowl. Shape into balls, whatever size you like, and then place on a broiler pan or cookie sheet with a piece of aluminum foil to keep it from sticking. Broil for 7 to 10 minutes, then add to sauce.

Sauce
1 large onion, chopped
4-5 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
Olive oil
2 28-oz. cans crushed tomatoes
16 oz. tomato sauce
1-2 Tbsp. sugar (to taste)
2 tsp. basil
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Pinch of red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of baking soda (to help neutralize the acid)

Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add onion and garlic and cook until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant. Add remaining sauce ingredients and combine well. Bring to a simmer and add meatballs. Simmer on low, uncovered, until desired consistency is reached–about 25-30 minutes for a sauce that’s of medium consistency.

Thank you to all of our dear wonderful family who sacrificed their time and money and came to this wonderful event. It meant a lot to us to have you all there. I know there are a lot of you who wished you could be there and we appreciate the well wishes just as much and missed having you. We truly are so blessed to have so many great family members who love and support all we do. Love ya guys.

College Graduate

It is safe to say that I feel like a horrible wife for just now getting to this post, but in my defense, things have been a little crazy.

David graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering at Arizona State University at the Polytechnic Campus back in May of this year. It took him 4 years + 1 semester. Going to school full time, working 2 or more jobs at a time, having a wife and daughter and a child on the way sure made it a little more than difficult to accomplish, but David did it with flying colors.

He is the most intelligent and most dedicated person I know. I PRAY our kids get his work ethic and love for education.

All of his hard work, late nights (most of the time all-nighters) and time away from his family definitely paid off in the end.

David is now a Project Sales Engineer for Mechanical Products Nevada Inc and he loves his job so much. I am proud of you my little mechanical engineer

(even if what you do is WAY over my head)!

We were lucky enough to see an amazing fireworks show right off our front porch thanks to the Red Rock Casino being only a stone throw away from us.

Rivers was asleep and Emery hated the loud noise. Maybe next year guys.

Thank you Bethany and Cameron for taking a 3 hour detour from your trip and coming to spend the holiday with us. We had a blast going to IHOP, the strip and having a delicious barbecue that I didn't help make at all! Love you guys.

Dad and daughter say "see you later."

It was a rough day yesterday saying goodbye to David. He made his way to Vegas, which is to be our home indefinitely. I will be living with my parents until our baby boy is born (approximately 5 weeks), and then I will head to Vegas to be with my husband.

Emery doesn't know what is going on, but she is no dummy. She knows where she is sleeping is different. She knows being at Grandma and Grandpa's this long isn't normal. She knows going this long with out seeing her daddy is wrong. She keeps saying "daddy go bye-bye" and it breaks my heart. She talks to him on the phone and looks at pictures of him, but it's not enough. She needs his hugs and kisses. She needs him to wrestle with her and I need him. I need him to change the stinky diapers that I can't handle and snap me out of my emotionally crazed pregnancy moments.

Most importantly, I lost my back massager. David, you can come back now.

It hasn't even been two days, I'll shut up now.

March 1, 2007 was the first time I "met" David, via text message. He wrote "Hey, what's up? This is David." In which I replied "Hi David, This is Kasey, I am going to change your life!"

Guess what? I did. Not only that but David completely changed mine. We had no clue what our future held and how hard it would be to get where we are today. Through all our highs and lows I would not change a thing. I love you David more than anything in this world. You are my best friend, my Wolf Pup and Panda Bear. I will forever be your Stargirl and Crane Wife.

Thank you for the 1 year of dating and amazing 3 years of marriage. I am so excited for the next forever more years we have left.

Yesterday on the 23 of February, I turned 23. It was my golden birthday!!

I am also 23 weeks along now. What a great week I have had.

Us. On my birthday. We didn't get to really see each other at all due to his work and school. Bummer.

It is ok though, we went to a movie the night before and he got me a watch, oh, and just this CAR!

This was our wedding cake. David and I both had one bite and we never saw it again. I have no idea what my family ended doing with it or why we never ended up with the top layer. To be honest I don't even remember the flavor of this but I do know that it was very delicious.

I am in a situation right now, that reminds me of this cake. I got a good taste of something, had time to enjoy it and appreciate it, and now, it may be taken from me with out much of warning and with not much I can do about it.

This is very frustrating and stressful to say the least. Why can't things just work out all the time for me? I mean really, is that too much to ask?

Lions, and tigers, and bears...

My mom came up with the brilliant idea to go to the Phoenix Zoo this last Saturday. I was excited because, one Emery loved it the first time she went, two David had never been and three Emery coincidentally was wearing her Put Me In The Zoo shirt that morning so she fit in quite nicely.

First time on the carousel and she rode it like a pro. She was the youngest one on there and she loved it the most. She waved to Dave and I each time she went by.

I have been to the zoo a dozen times and have NEVER seen the lion. Well guess what, I did this time. And the lioness was lying on a rock like she owned the joint. Let's be honest, she probably does.

And this is Dave and I's first picture since you can really tell I am pregnant. Interesting. Or not.

We had a blast and did it all in about 2 and a half hours. Sadly a lot of exhibits were closed due to construction for better habitats. That is great for the animals though. I am excited to try to go back in April when they bring back the orangutans. Emery calls them "dad."

My FAVORITE cookie recipe of all time!

*Note: In these pictures, I accidentally added too much flour to the recipe so the cookies didn't spread like they were supposed to

(surprisingly but not so surprisingly, they were still super delicious).

These are the Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are too good for my own good and that is why they are THE BEST!

Recipe-

CREAM TOGETHER:

*1 Cup of Butter (you best make it the real deal people)

*1 Cup of Sugar

*1 Cup of Brown Sugar

ADD:

*2 Eggs

*1 tsp. Vanilla (also better be the real stuff)

Some things to consider if you want even better cookies:

*Melt the butter

*Add 1-2 T. of milk (this really makes such a difference)

*Double the amount of vanilla

* and of course, use real butter

MIX TOGETHER:

*2 Cups of Flour

*2 1/2 Cups of Oatmeal (blended)

*1/2 tsp. Salt

*1 tsp. Baking Powder

*1 tsp. Baking Soda

THEN ADD:

*24 oz Chocolate Chips

BAKE:

*375 degrees for 6-8 minutes

Makes approximately 60 cookies (depending on how big you make them)

Pneumonia and M&M's

Dear Illness and Sickness Corporation,

Emery has a few nicknames within members of my family, one name used often is eminem (no-not the artist). Well, Emery had a run in with a real M&M. See nose.I gave her an M&M and somehow it ended up cutting her on the nose. She can make anything into a weapon. Emery no longer has a "battle wound," if you will, on her nose. She is now suffering with the early stages of Pneumonia, after having a cold for five days, it has turned to something much worse. I never thought I would say this- but I would prefer Emery cut her nose on an M&M. She can't ever seem to catch a break. No more illnesses for this one please...and thank you.

I need some more inspiration!

This episode on an HGTV program really inspired me to do something neat with our main wall in our little home. So this picture below was our inspiration.

We tried it in red, decorated the walls with a lot of too distracting artwork and left it like that for months.

I soon realized I didn't like the feel of it so we lightened it up with this almost mint green color and added splashes of dark browns and whites. I am very pleased with it and have enjoyed this new color for about a year now. Thank you to David for sketching out all the straight lines.

I want to do more projects like this. Get my hands dirty if you will. I think I may wanna create my own headboard, although we already have one that functions just fine, I want to call something my baby, my masterpiece.

Anyone have any neat project ideas for me?

Is it bad that I wouldn't mind looking like this again? 18 with out a care in the world really shows in my outfit.
and let's be honest, the hair wasn't too great either, but I LOVED it, and could get away with doing it because I wasn't a wife and mother. But no...maybe when I have all of my kids and have a smokin body I will do something crazy with my hair again. That way, at least I could say "I have accomplished great things, I'll do what I want with my hair!"
You can't tell but there is purple and blue in my hair as well! Thanks for the Mull-Hawk mom!

First Real Family Photos

These photos are long overdue. They are Emery's one year shots. The morning of picture day, Emery had some pretty odd and questionable symptoms that didn't look right at all to me, so I suggested to David we try to take her to the pediatrician to get her looked at. Well my pediatrician couldn't get her in for 5 hours and I was not going to wait that long, so we took her to the E.R. She went through a series of uncomfortable tests and procedures. A catheter, x rays, blood samples...you get the idea. We were there for hours and she was completely and expectedly unhappy, to say the least. The time was getting nearer to when we needed to meet with our photographers and I kept debating whether or not we should cancel. We finally got results and were able to go home 20 minutes before our appointment for photos. I was in my pajamas and had bed head and Emery was exhausted and was throwing a fit. I have never gotten us all ready so fast. Needless to say it may have been a bad parenting moment to go forward with the pictures but we didn't have a choice. I am very pleased we decided to do it that day. It took half the shoot to get Emery in a better mood but it doesn't show too much in the photos. We love them and we love The Langs for cooperating with us so well and for making us all laugh. Thanks again guys, the photos are to be cherished forever!

We had a great Thanksgiving. The pictures of David and Emery are at our house the day or two before we left for the mountains. When we woke Thanksgiving morning in Show Low it had snowed. It was perfect. Thanks weather for giving us what we wanted. David woke up hoping to go golfing that morning. Guess not honey. Your loss was our gain! California Trip Part One

California here we come...

My brother Kellen and his wife Brigette took part in the give a day of service/Disneyland ticket program and invited us to vacation with them. Kellen planned the whole thing and made sure that absolutely everything was perfect, and it was.

We stayed at the Camelot Inn & Suites which is literally right across the front gates of Disneyland. On our balcony we could see the Matterhorn to our right and the Hollywood Tower of Terror to our left, not to mention, the fireworks show. It was perfect!

The bathroom towels were even folded so cute.

The night we got into Anaheim it happened to be David's birthday(25). He chose to eat at the ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney. It was a lot of fun and right up his alley for being such a sports fanatic.

We had the most amazing day. I guess you could say it really couldn't have gone better. We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain the following day but didn't take pictures because it really would have just been a hassle and not too magical. Going to Six Flags after being at Disneyland was kind of a downer, the place is dirty and trashy. The Disney company really does a tremendous job of keeping up on everything to ensure you have the most magical and wonderful experience. Have you noticed there aren't any insects at Disneyland? Not one. No bees, ants, flies or anything. It is a mystery. It was a great weekend and I will be posting pictures of Newport which we visited that Sunday (I promise there won't be as many pictures).

Can I just say, I love Fall! I look forward to the cooling of the weather so much every year and then quickly remember why I love living in Arizona so much.

These two enjoying a symphony in the park that wiser mister Gentry was asked to be an honorary guest conductor for. It was really nice. The White Mountain Orchestra played a handful of patriotic songs. For it being the first time they were putting this event on I would say the turn out was a good one.

I wanted to make s'mores, I made two, ate them quick, went inside and watched tv. Today I am lame.
I really enjoy this picture because I love my ring. Well, and him of course.

We didn't take many pictures this Labor day weekend. These 5 are my favorite for now. Tonight I feel like I have a bed time. I feel like "oh it is late, I should get to bed before I get into trouble!" I cannot tell you why I feel this way exactly, but I am exhausted and should be sleeping. My eyes feel like they are on fire. It was a relaxing weekend and that is all I wanted. When I get back home and back to reality I am going to go to the thrift store and buy myself clothes. Anyone can join me if they'd like, but I probably won't talk to you, I will be in my zone-I am just saying. Enjoy tomorrow, it is a holiday.

I don't ever want Emery Scout's little chicken hair to thicken up and start laying down. Then again, I'm sure as she got old enough to have an opinion on the matter she wouldn't be too thrilled. I love her hair. There is not much of it,but the fact that it is still sticking straight up after 9 months, just makes me so happy. It is most definitely part of her personality as you can see.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

My first attempt of making bread alone. Guess what? It worked.

Frozen bananas

Grease and flour pan

It was that simple. Who knew?

1/2 c. Butter                              
1/2 c. Walnuts (optional)                           
1/2 C. Sugar                               
3 Bananas mashed

2 Eggs
1/3 c. Hot Water
2 c. Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
about 1 c. Chocolate Chips (optional)

Cream butter and sugar. Then add eggs, flour, and salt. Mix. Then add walnuts, banana, HOT water and baking soda. Mix. Last add chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 min-1 hour, depending on your oven. Enjoy!

I got the greatest email from him today and I just wanted to post it on here, so I know I will have it forever to cherish and look back on. I have missed you a lot lately, and i am not really sure what has "caused" it. But i do. I love you (and David) and want to thank you for all that you do for me. Things here have been going great and i am lovin being here soo much, and will be sad to leave. But thats mish. work and obviously will go where i am needed.

So i was up at the Clarks yesterday doing laundry and they said that you no longer have a Facebook? I thought, there's NO WAY!!! haha. So they just wanted to know what was up with that. Cuz i'm serious when i say, they love you, they as in Laurissa and Sister Clark. They really do like you and enjoy being your friend. Also, i heard that you talked to my new pen pal Ansley.. haha. Thats pretty cool. Basically, i really enjoy her letters a lot. She's a very sincere and genuine girl. So if you feel the desire to continue to be her friend, please don't embarrass me? . . I am first and foremost a missionary, and NO girl will distract me from that Calling, but it is nice to actually get mail now that Beth doesn't write anymore.. Ansley also thinks very highly of you, she said, "Not only is she totally awesome, but is absolutely GORGEOUS" They all really like you Kasey, and think you are beautiful. I want to thank you for being in their life, because believe it or not, it makes it more like you are in mine. I enjoy talking about my family with them. It helps me fight homesickness(which creeps up now and again) I know you and i haven't always gotten along, and i certainly haven't been easy to get along with or make your life any easier. But i love you Kasey and do really miss you. Because as hard a time as i give you, there is a reason why you know every girl that i have ever liked, or really have ever known. Burk Family Reunion (no one reads this anymore)

We had a great 5 day vacation up in the white mountains. Very needed. It had been about 6 months since we had been up there. Which is the longest amount of time David has ever been away from home besides his mission. We did all the traditional things we do with my family when we go up there. Eat, Fish, Go shooting, Eat, Play games, Eat, Sit outside and Relax, Go to the Lollipop Shoppe, Eat, oh ya and eat. My grandparents insist on there being at least 4 to 5 meals a day starting as early as 6 am. I think I gain at least 5lbs every time we go up there. But I will say those are 5 very happy and satisfied pounds! The family reunion was kind of a bust do to the lack of planning on certain people's part, but we still had fun. Bocce ball and ladder ball are always a hit. We miss the cooler weather and family, but we will make it up there again soon. Promise.

These two are buddies, well, in Captain's eyes. Yogi Beans (St. Bernard) really gets annoyed. It is true. We have an annoying dog. We all pitched in and got her tickets to see one of her all time favorite artists, Michael Buble'. She absolutely loved it and secretly (but not so secretly) I was really hoping she would choose me to go with her, that or Enrique would get sick or something .

A Personal Vent

I am going to write...to myself (not too many comment on here anyhow). This is intended to be something I can look back on someday and hopefully laugh at and say "you were so dramatic back then Kasey." But for now, there are some thoughts that need to be taken from my mind and put down on paper in hopes to no longer think this way.
How do I get all these feelings out? How do I organize these thoughts to make actual sense? I guess I just start with the most fresh thing in my brain that is slowly starting to rot.
There is someone in my life, someone very close to me, that makes me feel like a bad mother at times. I try to do what I feel is best for me and my family. During my pregnancy I read all the right books out there, got lots of advice (even bad advice), prayed fervently asking for guidance and direction, and constantly asked myself if I had any idea what I was getting myself into, then quickly answering myself "of course I don't, but I cannot wait!" When Emery was born, I made a promise to myself and to her that I would do everything in my power to raise her the best way I knew how and just follow my gut instincts. In my opinion, I feel as if I am doing okay. This person in my life, makes me feel otherwise. I don't know what to do. I don't know how to go about changing my situation with them to allow myself to be brave enough to confront them about how I am feeling. They need to back off. Give advice only when asked or maybe send me a word of encouragement every now and again. Then I think, well, what if they're right? Maybe I don't know what I am doing. Maybe I am just too stubborn to listen to other people's opinion in an optimistic way. Constructive criticism? No, I don't think that is what this is. I think it is just someone offering too much of what they feel too often. Trying to bring me down for who knows what reason.
Emery is the love of my life (other than David obviously), for those who are parents know that loving a child is a COMPLETELY different love than loving a spouse or any relative for that matter. I didn't use to understand this when I was younger. I always used to ask my dad "do you love Kim (his wife) more than me?" and his response was "I love you both differently." I was offended back then, I thought, "how could he? I have been in his life longer and I am his daughter?" But when I asked my mom the same question about her husband and myself, I received the same response. Dang! If only I knew then what I know now. I love Emery in a way I could never love my sweet husband and vice versa. It is incredible. With those adoring feelings also comes some pretty awful ones as well. You see, a friend of mine, that I have unfortunately lost touch with, had a tragedy in her home. She lost her sweet baby boy a couple weeks after Emery was born. She had a lot of complications with her pregnancy and her baby was just meant to be here for a very short amount of time. A few months. When I learned of this, it ripped my heart in two as if it was something I was experiencing with her. That probably sounds selfish, but just having a child of my own I was tremendously emotional and it touched so close to home with me. I could not even IMAGINE not having my little one in my life and here I was feeling so heart broken just the same. Ever since that day, I have had some pretty scary dreams and thoughts, unsure as to how get rid of them. I constantly check on my baby in the middle of the night that I have created an obsession about it, and I think it really gets to David, that is, when he is actually awake to realize I am being so crazy. I question things David does as he cares for her as if he didn't know what he was doing or how to be a father. It is terrible. The worst part of it all is, after reading my friends blog about her grieving process on a nearly day to day basis, i forget. I forget to be grateful. I forget to be kind. I forget to be patient. I forget to be forgiving. I forget to be loving. How could I forget? There are so many out there who would do anything to have a baby of their own, a precious family of 3 or more, and here I am, selfish, impatient Kasey, forgetting to be a gracious Daughter of God. How could anyone yell or lose their temper with a 5 month old baby? I have. I do. I am more than ashamed to admit it, but it is true. There have been a number of times within the last couple of weeks where I have literally felt like I was going to die of anxiety. I felt as if my heart was being ripped from chest and that I needed to crawl out of my skin as soon as possible or I simply was not going to survive through it. How can I feel this way? You tell me. I don't know what overcomes me. I don't know what it is that creates it and makes it escalate, but it is there, and for now, it is not going away. What do I do? How do I cure such pain? For not only me but those in my family who have to suffer through it? My poor Emery gets the bad end of the deal, when I lose my patience and decide to just walk away from her and let her cry to the point of hysteria. Kasey, how could you? As I write this I have an overwhelming feeling that I know what the answer is. God. God, please help me. I am not doing everything I can be to be close to God. I know there are so many things I must work on, and what is my excuse for not doing them? I am scared. I am lazy. And I figure, I become so far lost that the journey back is too hard to be worth it. But it is worth it. I need to get my act together. I need to be a better mom, and wife. Those are my duties in life. It is my calling. I want to do more. I want to be more sure of the things in my life that I feel I am doing right. I don't want people to question me. I want strangers to look at me and say "that girl looks like she has it all figured out" they should say "doesn't she look happy?" I want you all to know, I am happy. I know how blessed I am to have what I do in my life. It isn't a question of that. I guess it is all a question of faith, in myself, in those around me, and God.

Kellen and Brigette's wedding was so beautiful and everything was a huge success. Aubrey and Marshall's wedding was just as perfect. There is something real special about being able to attend two sealings in one weekend. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it all.

Emery was a doll and was such a champ the whole time. It could have all gone horribly wrong but I was truly blessed that day with a perfect daughter.

Although weddings are wonderful, I am sure as heck glad that weekend is over. TOO STRESSFUL!

With Emery it really is a hit or miss. Sometimes she hates her floor gym, and I think to myself what a mistake it was to purchase it. Other times, she loves it and plays with it for the longest time, and sometimes even falls asleep under it, like she did today. Also her swing (thank you Jeremy and Marcha for letting us borrow it), some days it is my best friend and she can nap in it for hours, other times, she acts as if I am the worst parent on the planet for even thinking she would want to be put into a moving, vibrating, singing object. Now after spending a few days at home rather than go to work, or school meetings David can see why there are days I just don't get anything done. But I cannot help but laugh at the cute little turd, yes I just called my daughter a turd. She may be only 3 months old, but she knows EXACTLY what she is doing and I love her to death.

Fun. is an amazing band that I have fallen completely obsessed with this last month or so. Nate- you need to write an autobiography. I am more than curious as to how your life has gotten you to where you are now. I am going to write him a letter telling him just THAT! Fun. opened for Jacks Mannequin, who I like, but I am not even going to say anymore about them.

I danced my little heart out and embarrassed David to no end. But I didn't care. It had been so long since I was able to just let go of everything and just dance, dance, dance! Olympic Party

Getting ready for our Olympic Party.

Decorative streamers. People still decorate with streamers right?

The Olympic Rings cupcakes I made, minus the black, cuz who wants to eat black frosting? No one ate them anyway.

David cooked delicious ribs, and we had potato salad, beans, veggie platter, tons of desserts, chips etc. etc. I asked those that came to either bring a dessert, game, or just themselves, and just about everyone brought a dessert. Three days before starting my diet. Sheesh.

Aubrey is one of my best friends. She is getting married the day after my brother does. I am extremely happy for her, and I hope she waits to have children (joking aubs)! Emery was a party animal......
.....till she wasn't anymore. Jeff, who is married to one of my other best friends, wants a baby so badly, and was so good with Emery. He always is. She fell asleep like that. Love it.

Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy the company of one another in our home. The Opening Ceremonies was fun and all, but having all those who were there really made our weekend a great one! Let us all do it again soon.

The love and I are on day 3 of the P90X program. Let me just tell ya, if it weren't for David, I would have already given up. This is by far the hardest workout I have ever done. I hate working out, in my opinion I think it was created by the devil, but that's just cuz I am lazy. Clearly David and I have a long way to go, but I am very excited for the next few months to change our lives. Better eating habits (no more Diet Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper-sad day), and better sleeping schedule etc etc. The sleeping thing we still need to work on (Emery). I would post before and after pictures, maybe if I looked different in the before ha ha NOT HAPPENING. Trust me, no one will want to see that. Let's just hope we can stick with this and not give up.

Life has been really good since this new year started. Not that it wasn't great before, what with welcoming a child into our lives and all, but I am just so happy. I am really proud of us. GO team Gentry!

I guess we know who she looks like!

We had Emery's baby blessing in my parents ward because my brother Justin gave his farewell talk that day as well and I wanted him to be a part of it. He got called to Roseville, California. We love you Justin. You're going to be a great missionary.

My mom made her dress and it is absolutely gorgeous. My Grandma Cole made her blanket and we love it! Thanks ladies (the two people who dont have blogs)!

Proud Parents. David gave the most amazing blessing I've ever heard. Her daddy sure loves her and wanted to make sure she has all the blessings in the world. She is going to be amazing....

For the first time it looks like my family is bigger than David's. Hardly the case. But I am so happy all of my siblings could be there!

Well it is going to be a busy weekend. First you have the obvious, Christmas on Friday. Which I am very excited for. My little girls first Christmas. It will be great fun to tell her all about it when she is older. Then on Sunday we are blessing our sweet girl. We decided to bless her in my parents ward. My brother Justin is leaving on his mission and it is his farewell that day too. A lot going on. I am so excited that I have a husband who is a worthy member of this church and he has the opportunity to give our daughter a real fathers blessing. It is going to be such a special and wonderful day. Im so grateful for the friends and family who are taking time out of their busy lives, especially around the holidays, to come and share this special day with us. Being a mom is really the best thing in the world. I thought I knew myself real well, especially by now, but boy was I wrong. I have never been so humbled in all my life, then when I first had MY child placed in my arms and she looked at me as if she has been waiting to be a part of my world, my family, for a long time. She feels like home. She is my life, my girl. I get to teach Emery Scout Gentry the things I know and have learned. I get to watch her grow into a beautiful woman some day. I have a husband who has become the greatest dad over night. He loves her with all he has to give. Nothing is better than waking up to him holding her and grinning ear to ear from true sincere happiness that she brings to him. David and Emery you are what makes my life worth every thing that it is. Thank you for bringing me the greatest joy. I never would have thought I could handle such responsibility at such a young age. Im 21. And unfortunately Im really good at being 21. I am lazy and boring. I seem to care more about my needs and wants than anyone elses, and heaven knows I am horrible with money, and finances in general. I dont have a strong testimony and I sadly dont know as much about the Gospel as I know I should. I disappoint the people closest to me in my life constantly and have a hard time admitting when Im wrong. BUT, now that I have something so precious in my life, something or better put, someone in my life that holds more meaning than everything Ive ever known, I truly have become a new person. I would like to think I have learned to be a little more selfless and loving. I have learned a whole new level of patience that I never knew existed, and I have never put someone first as much as I do every day with my little one. Emery you have taught ME some great lessons already, and I know I am your mother and I am supposed to be the one you look up to and learn from but I just want to tell you right now, Ive learned more from you in this last month than I ever thought possible. You and your dad are the greatest things in my life. I know all this wouldnt be what it is without having God in my life, and as one of my new year goals, I am making sure I study the Gospel better and more often and really look at it in a new way. I know this church is true and that it is THE church. I know that the temple work I have been a part of has so much more to it than I am supposed to comprehend right now and that I should just look at it for what it is for the earthly experience. It is a beautiful and wonderful privilege to be able to be a part of temple work. I am so grateful for my great great grandparents for joining the church and creating such a sturdy foundation for the generations to come. This church is true. This church is TRUE! I love my family. I love my life. I love my daughter. I love my husband so much. Thank you David, thank you for giving me your love and having faith in me and never giving up. You truly are an amazing son of God. I am thankful for so much and it isnt this time of year that has made me sit back and realize it. Its my daughter. But Im glad this time of year has rolled around and Christ is appreciated more and more by the world. Lets just hope everyone remembers His sacrifices he made through out the rest of the year. I love you, Everyone! If you actually sat and read this, Im sorry to have taken up so much of your time. This post was supposed to be a picture of my family wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, and turned more into a private, yet very public journal entry. I dont regret it. I just want everyone to know...I am very happy!

Davids Happy and Cheap Birthday

This post is a little late, but better late then never. We celebrated David's birthday a couple weeks ago and for once I actually took pictures. Not the best quality ever but hey I tried. David I love you and I am so proud of you for all you accomplish on a day to day basis. You are my rock, my best friend, and the love of my life. I wish you the best of luck in this year to come.

Here is the Man of the Hour (or day) David turned 24

We got a free box of a dozen Glazed Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, all we had to do is drive up to the
drive-thru window and flash his license with his birthdate. Simple as that. Free Breakfast!

Then after school we went to Joe's Farm Grill for lunch. We get 10 dollars credited towards our meal. Free Lunch!

My favorite is the Barbeque Chicken Pizza, I used to eat this all the time when I worked there.

First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a baby carriage.

Then finally for dinner we went to Red Robin, you get a free gourmet burger and a dessert for your birthday, so naturally we shared. Free Dinner!

Finally David blows out his candles and we shared our night laughing and talking with our friends just enjoying each others company. Thank you for everyone who sent out birthday wishes and kisses to David. He is truly grateful.

this may be weird for you folks to read, but breast pumps are expensive, as a lot of you know. I obviously am looking in to getting one but i have no idea what the best brand, kind, shape or anything is. if anyone has one they arent using i wouldnt be grossed out to borrow it. hint hint. but please let me know of any advice you may have on the matter.
